AUC-UNDP African Young Women Leaders Fellowship is a fully funded programme that provides young women leaders from across Africa with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in the areas of leadership, policy, and advocacy.

The Fellowship Programme is like an adventure where they will explore different things to help Africa become better. There are six important areas they will focus on:

• Finally, making sure there’s peace and security.

The UNDP wants to find up to 40 amazing young African women for this special program. It will last for a whole year! During this time, they will work with the UNDP and learn lots of new things.

They might be sent to different offices to learn and grow, applicants need to be open to going to different places, but not really difficult ones.

The Fellowship will last for 12 months, and they can’t stay longer than that. It’s going to be an exciting journey for the chosen fellows!

How To Qualify For AUC-UNDP African Young Women Leaders Fellowship

To qualify for the AUC-UNDP African Young Women Leaders Fellowship Programme, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. You must be an African citizen.
2. You must be between the ages of 25 and 35.
3. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
4. You must have a strong commitment to social justice and gender equality.

The AUC-UNDP African Young Women Leaders Fellowship requires that all applicants have a strong command of the English language. This is because the fellowship program will be conducted in English.

If you are not a native English speaker, you may be able to demonstrate your English language proficiency by submitting one of the following:

• A TOEFL score of about 70 or higher.
• An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher.
• A Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 180 or higher.

You may also be able to demonstrate your English language proficiency by submitting a writing sample or by taking an English language proficiency test at a local testing center.

Steps On How To Apply For The AUC-UNDP African Young Women Leaders Fellowship

1. Go to the AUC-UNDP African Young Women Leaders Fellowship website.
2. Click on the “Apply Now” button.
3. Create an account and fill out the online application form.
4. Upload your personal statement, CV, and two letters of recommendation.
5. Submit your application by the deadline of 13 August 2023.

Please note that the deadline is strictly enforced. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

The first six months of the fellowship will be spent in Addis Ababa, where the participants will participate in a training program in leadership, policy, and advocacy.

Meanwhile, the second six months of the fellowship will be spent in Nairobi, where the participants will work on a project related to social justice or gender equality.
